Dating well means dating safely. Here is what we do to protect the community, what we ask of you, and where to get help fast.

1. What CHOSEN does
- Photo verification and a live pose selfie check before members can be discovered.
- Human review of every profile before it enters the Inner Circle.
- Duplicate-account and fraud screening using device and network signals.
- A moderation queue where our team reviews every report, usually within 48 hours.
- Blocking that immediately removes a member from your discovery, matches and messages.
Verification reduces impersonation. It is not a background check and is not a guarantee about anyone's identity, intentions, relationship status or character.
2. Before you meet
- Video call first. Anyone who refuses every camera call is a red flag.
- Meet in a public place, in daylight, for the first few dates.
- Tell a friend where you are going, who you are meeting, and when you expect to be home.
- Arrange your own transport, both ways.
- Keep your drink with you, and stop the date the moment you feel uneasy.
- Keep your home address, workplace and financial details private until trust is earned.
3. Romance scam warning signs
Financial romance fraud is the most common serious harm on dating platforms. Treat any of these as a reason to stop and report:
- Asks for money, gift cards, crypto, a loan or help with an 'emergency' — no matter how convincing the story.
- Offers investment advice, trading platforms or 'guaranteed returns'.
- Pushes to move to WhatsApp, Telegram or email within the first few messages.
- Declares intense love very quickly, then creates urgency or a crisis.
- Refuses video calls or sends photos that look professionally produced.
- Claims to be travelling, deployed overseas, or repeatedly delayed from meeting.
CHOSEN will never ask you for money by message, and no member of our team will ever ask for your password or payment details.
4. Reporting and blocking
Every profile and conversation has a menu with Report and Block. Reporting is confidential — the other member is never told who reported them. Our team reviews the report, examines related accounts and device signals, and may warn, restrict, suspend or permanently remove the account. Blocking takes effect immediately and does not require a report.
Signed-in members can also open a support request from Support in the member menu. Our response-time commitments: safety or urgent concerns within 24 hours, billing within 1 business day, everything else within 2 business days. For urgent safety concerns you can also email hello@choosehigherlove.com with the member's name and what happened.
5. Your privacy is part of your safety
- Birth details are private by default; you choose whether they appear on your profile.
- Journal entries are private to you, and any entry can be sealed so AI never reads it.
- Voice recordings can be unpublished or deleted at any time.
- You can pause your profile so you are hidden from discovery without losing your account.
- You can download or permanently delete all of your data from Settings.
6. Urgent support
CHOSEN is not an emergency service. If you or someone else is in danger, contact local help first.
- Emergency (US): 911.
- Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (US): call or text 988.
- National Domestic Violence Hotline (US): 1-800-799-7233, or text START to 88788.
- National Sexual Assault Hotline (US, RAINN): 1-800-656-4673.
- FTC fraud reporting (US): reportfraud.ftc.gov. Also report to the FBI IC3 at ic3.gov.
- Outside the US: use your local emergency number and national crisis or fraud lines.
7. AI guidance is not care
Our coach, weekly plans, journal reflections and astrology readings are AI-generated tools for self-reflection only. They are not therapy, diagnosis, or medical, psychological, financial or legal advice, and they must not be relied on in a crisis. Please seek a licensed professional for care.
